Translation is a written text from one language to another. This can be any documents or digital content. For example manufacturers who export may need their instructions translating from the origin language to several different languages spoken in their exporting destination. I could be as simple as translating a restaurant’s menu into their native language.
Translation ensures complete understanding in a visual format. Providing translated documents from say English into a client’s native tongue omits confusion later down the line, due to having a physical reference should any inconsistencies be raised.
Interpretation happens when an intermediary bilingual person listens to one language & immediately regurgitate into an alternative language so the two parties can communicate.
Under the legal sense of the word, it is recognition of understanding through paraphrasing for each individual language and dialect, legal terminology can be tricky to the unqualified and unexperienced expert.
